Neuromodulators
About Neuromodulators
Neuromodulators are injections that temporarily relax the muscles that crease the skin when you squint, frown and raise your brows. La Jolla Laser Derm offers six: Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, Jeuveau, Xeomin and Letybo. Each is approved by the FDA for moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, and each is a different botulinum toxin type A formulation from a different manufacturer: Allergan, Ipsen, Revance, Evolus, Merz and Hugel.
Units are not interchangeable between brands. In general results last 3 to 4 months; Daxxify's peptide formulation lasts 6 to 9 months. Every injection is performed by Dr. Azadeh Shirazi, a board-certified dermatologist, or by Selena Salazar, RN, under her direct supervision. The goal is a rested, natural look. Which product suits you is decided at a consultation.
